The Rhug Organic Food Shop
Four years ago we had an idea that there were customers who would be interested in a shop that sold a range of high quality products that were on the whole made by smaller producers who were passionate about food. We thought it may be a good idea to open this shop at the side of the busy A5 next to the farm entrance. We also thought it could be a risky venture!
We have been happy to be proved wrong about the risk and right about the location and the demand for great tasting food. Our range has grown in the last 4 years from 300 products to over 1400 and shows no signs of slowing down as Jaquie our shop manager never stops thinking of new ways to expand our range and new products to try.
We now sell a very wide range of products from organic ice cream cones and hand made meat pies to organic lamb chops and hand produced sausages.
We have a simple set of principles which we apply to all our products; do they taste great? Can we buy them locally? Are they produced by people with a real pride in their products and, where possible, are they organic? We will also try to buy products for customers who have special dietary requirements.
The team also tries very hard to create that personal touch which seems to be a forgotten trait in the huge supermarket chain. To us, each and every one of our customers is very important and we try our best to make them feel so.
